Our Favourite Ed Note of the Year
“Because I am a woman, I must make unusual efforts to succeed. If I fail, no one will say, ‘She doesn’t have what it takes.’ They will say, ‘Women don’t have what it takes.’ “— Clare Boothe Luce.

So Shall We?
2024 has been an exciting year for us. We spent each day, week, and month trying to give you what we promised — Resources, Advice, a Safe Space for women to talk about their experiences, Events, Opportunities, and Community.
Our Mixer Event
In March, we held our first rooftop mixer event at Grey Matter. Women in different tech fields and aspiring women in tech came together to network and share experiences, struggles, and advice on how they have navigated or are still navigating the tech industry. And what is a mixer without a few drinks, snacks, and even merch? You can imagine the fun we all had at the event.
Our Articles and Newsletter
This year, we published 120+ articles across all sections — Our Dear Tech Sis section, where we interviewed different women like Nkeiruka, Hassanat, Stephanie, Powei, Clara Jack, Ezinne, etc and talked about their first-hand experience on how to work as a woman in tech. Essays, where we give tips on how to start your tech journey and thrive in the industry; Startups, where we spotlight different startups founded by women; News, where we share the latest news that concerns women; Opportunities, where we share job posting, fellowships, scholarships, etc; Founders, where we spotlighted women who are founders in the tech industry and even an Industry Report where we collaborated with Document Women and Maktaba to make an extensive research and survey that discovered that only 33.7% of women in Nigeria find their Tech workplace truly exclusive.
In our newsletter this year, we spoke on important topics that needed to be addressed and made sure to send them weekly. While we have a lot of interesting newsletters, here are our top 10 newsletters that our readers enjoyed the most, in no particular order:
Halimah Balogun Takes Over TSJ’s Newsletter to Share Her Tech Journey.
Newsletter Takeover: Clara Jack Talks About Her Journey to Cybersecurity.
AltSchool Africa Scholarship
The Stack Journal, alongside its founder Kiki Mordi, gave out free scholarships to aspiring women in tech. Over 15,000 applied for the scholarship, and we were able to support about 2,000 women with either half or fully paid scholarships. In 2025, we intend to spotlight some of these women on TSJ and follow their tech journey.
